In 2001, my spouse and I received the most precious gift of our lives – our child. With the joy and anticipation of being parents, we decided to create a brand to embody this love for our family. Thus, “I-LONG” was born. “Long” is derived from the last character of the child’s name. It is not only a symbol but also our infinite blessings for his future: hoping that life will be as vigorous as a dragon’s leap and yet stable, wishing his career to keep rising step by step, and praying that our love, like a trickle of water, will flow steadily and continuously.
This name is the first gift we gave to our child, and it is also the unchanging core principle of our brand.
From that moment on, we have been committed to integrating this subtle and profound emotion of the Eastern parents into the design of every comb. We visited workshops across China, collaborated with the most experienced artisans, selected precious woods such as natural green sandalwood, precious jade, black walnut, and the smooth and lustrous natural horn. Every curve follows ancient techniques, yet suits modern aesthetics; every carving tells an ancient Chinese story – perhaps the plum blossoms outside the window, perhaps the dragons in the sea of clouds, or perhaps the phoenix symbolizing good luck.
Every comb of I-LONG has been meticulously polished by skilled artisans for dozens of times, until it feels as smooth and warm as jade. When brushed through the hair, it offers a kind of indulgent care. It is not merely a daily necessity, but also a valuable gift-grade art piece that is an elegant vessel for conveying care and expressing blessings.
